I've tried some holo and loose flakies powders, and finally tried chrome powder! Now, these are usually for gel polishes, but I'm using it with normal nail polish, and well, I'm obsessed! These are so crazy in person, you have no idea!
Firstly, the powder arrives with an eyeshadow application, and the container, and it's in another baggy, so it's totally spill-proof.
It also comes sealed! So extra protection. I started to remove it but thought it would be helpful to see.
I used one coat of Morgan Taylor Don't Let the Frost Bite!, a deep purple creme. Then I added one coat of sticky base coat, let it dry for a minute, and rubbed in the powder with the eyeshadow applicator.
The more you rub it in, the smoother the chrome looks! I can't explain how much smoother this looks in person. It's really an amazing look!
These were just so cool. In person, they were mirror-like! I love it!
Just to share, this is what happens when you use a regular top coat with the powders. My middle nail has the top coat, and you can see the smooth mirror-like powder turns into a metallic polish. It's still pretty, but obviously not as unique for effects. I need to get a water based top coat, so it won't destroy the powder. For now, I let my base dry before I put the chrome on, so it wasn't an issue of waiting. I'll be testing the powder again with how long it lasts with no top coat.
